Monday, Tuesday, Happy Days

Though my mother and I have been slowly collecting supplies for my foray into the 'Real World' (at least I think that's what it's called) nothing major has been purchased so far. A few recipe books here, a novelty 'Central Perk' coffee mug there; nothing has signalled my now imminent leaving-home-ness in a very substantial way. Until today, of course.
Ikea
Duvets, pillows, bedding, throw pillows, saucepans, frying pans, mixing bowls, plates, mugs, bowls, glasses, coat hangers, laundry baskets, drawer organisers, and every utensil imaginable have now been purchased. I'm up to my armpits in domesticity - all that's missing is a pair of lurid yellow washing-up gloves and that's it, I'm done. You might as well start calling me Margaret. I'm so on this. I can do this! If going out and socialising during Freshers' Week fails spectacularly, I'll just hang out in my kitchen and bake muffins.. It'll be fine!

N.B: In the lazy run up to Operation Moving Out (11 days and counting!) there isn't much else to post apart from menial/mundane updates. My life really isn't that interesting. I mean, I could tell you that since the much loved re-runs of Friends have now stopped, I'm planning to watch the Big Bang Theory at dinner time instead. I could say that I bought a new toothpaste yesterday, and that I really like the minty taste. Or.. I don't know, maybe I could say that the rather ridiculously titled self help book 'Who Moved My Cheese?' is really helping me to adjust to the idea that maybe leaving home for the first time isn't going to be a complete disaster; and that I'm beginning to rationalise every socially-anxious thought I've had these past few weeks into a rather comfortable state of mind. But until the awkwardness of Operation Moving Out and Operation Desperately Trying To Settle In and Make Friends begins, I really don't have much to relay. So bear with, bear with; this type of post won't last for long!
